about
Kathryn originally trained as an oboist, studying oboe and cor anglais at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She later switched to composing, where she has built a career from combining her love of film music with her passion for classical composing, with works performed by ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
Kathryn's recent work includes the landmark BBC Studios 4-part history series Civilisations: Rise and Fall (co-scored with Mike MacLennan). She also collaborates regularly with White Stork Music (a Cutting Edge Group company headed up by Emmy-nominated composer Tom Howe), through which she has written music for shows such as The Apprentice, Fletcher's Family Farm, Shetland: Scotland's Wondrous Isles and The Yorkshire Vet. Alongside this, she writes production music for labels such as Universal, Extreme Music and Zone Music, with tracks featuring on an array of productions for networks such as BBC, CBS, ESPN, ITV, Sky Sports and PBS
